3 days programme

On the evening of 30 April, the legendary Walpurgis Night comes to life. At 6 p.m., the traditional witch parade with witches, devils and numerous clubs winds its way through Schierke, accompanied by musicians and walk acts. As darkness falls, the Walpurgis fire is lit – the starting signal for a magical night full of sound and flames. On stage, Lichtzeit, Tricky Notes, Feuerdorn, Nobody Knows and Cultus Ferox headline the event, providing rousing music and a lively atmosphere. A special highlight this year is the spectacular multimedia show, which combines music and light to create an impressive experience. A shuttle bus – free with admission ticket – will take visitors from Wernigerode to Schierke and back on 30 April.

On Friday, 1 May, the focus will be on families and children. Games, fun and entertainment for young and old alike will characterise the day's programme at the medieval market. The PUPA puppet theatre invites not only young visitors to watch and marvel on this day. There will be live music until late in the evening from Almuth und die Ingenieure, Die letzte Band der Welt and The Eastside Gang. Children under the age of 14 have free admission on 1 May and on all other days.

The Walpurgis Folk Day on Saturday marks the end of the long Walpurgis weekend in Schierke. In the afternoon, Cellart and Clover will enchant the audience with lots of handmade music, traditional sounds, Irish and international folk music. There is also plenty for families to discover on Saturday: in addition to the colourful market, the PUPA puppet theatre will once again delight the youngest visitors with exciting stories and lovingly designed characters. Fans of Irish folk music can look forward to the Cobblestones, who will be playing late into the night on the Walpurgis stage to round off the weekend.
