The Brockenbahn starts at the main railway station in Wernigerode, right next to the "big trains" of the DB and the Abellio trains.
In addition to other stations in the town area, the Brocken railway runs to the Brocken via the "Drei Annen Hohne" and "Schierke" stations.

As soon as you take a trip to the Brocken, the journey costs €57.00 for the outward and return journey and €38.00 for the one-way journey.
It makes no difference whether you board the train in Wernigerode, Nordhausen or Schierke.

Yes, if you are an overnight guest in Schierke or Wernigerode, you will receive a guest card with your visitor's tax payment.
With this guest card you are entitled to use almost all public buses travelling in the eastern and western Harz Mountains free of charge.
For example, you can travel free of charge from Schierke to Wernigerode, Braunlage, Elbingerode, Blankenburg and Halberstadt.
