Walpurgis Schierke is one of the largest and most beautiful Walpurgis events in the Harz Mountains.
In 2026, visitors can once again look forward to a unique medieval spectacle in the small village of Schierke am Brocken near Wernigerode. On 30 April, 1 and 2 May, everyone is invited to join in the hustle and bustle of witches and devils. Three eventful days full of mysticism and medieval sounds in a unique natural setting await us.

Witches' parade
through Schierke
On 30 April at 6.00 pm, the big witches' parade with witches and devils from near and far starts at the youth hostel. Be there when the participants parade through the village of Schierke and then arrive at the event site and the town hall.

Walpurgis Night can be a long one. After the witches' procession, dancing around the fire and to the music of the numerous live bands and perhaps a potion or two, it's nice to be able to simply fall into bed on the spot without having to worry about the journey home.

To Walpurgis Schierke
The festival grounds for Walpurgis are located in the Kurpark in the centre of Schierke. The stages on which the various concerts take place can also be found in the Kurpark.
Free shuttle bus service

Return journey every 20 minutes between:
Wernigerode - Main Station (bus platform 9) and Schierke Town Hall

Travelling by shuttle bus
On 30 April there will be additional shuttle buses from/to Wernigerode car park "Hist. Altstadt / Schloss", which are free of charge with a valid admission ticket.
The buses will also run from the car park in Drei Annen Hohne to Schierke and back.
Travelling by public transport
Bus route 264 takes visitors from Wernigerode and Braunlage to Schierke.
The line runs every 60 minutes during the day and can be used free of charge with the HATIX ticket.

Car parks in Schierke
In Schierke please use the central and signposted car park "Am Winterbergtor". From there it is about a 10-minute walk to the festival site.
What is allowed?

- Non-alcoholic drinks in Tetra Pak or PET bottles with a maximum capacity of 0.5 litres
- Telescopic/pocket umbrella
- Dogs (only on a lead, if possible with a muzzle, please keep your distance from live programmes and crowds out of consideration for the animal)
- Costumes and garments of all kinds (but without swords, axes or similar weapons)
NOT allowed are:
- Glass, bottles and cans of any kind
- Audio and audiovisual recording devices (except mobile phones and small digital cameras)
- Sound recorders of all kinds
- Professional SLR cameras with zoom lenses
- Chairs, stools and any elevations to look over other spectators
- Spray paint, hairspray, sunscreen spray, etc.
- Weapons of all kinds

Bags will be checked by security staff at the entrances. The organisers ask for your understanding for these measures. The security checks are primarily in the interest and safety of visitors.
